Welcoming 2023
Happy New Year! I hope you had some time to slow down and enjoy the soft darkness of the season while spending some quiet moments. I've had lovely times with family and some quiet moments alone. Much of my time has been focused on my little dog, Toto.
Many of you know Toto. He is approaching the end of his yellow brick road, preparing to cross the rainbow bridge. He and I have had time to cuddle and be together at the end of 2022 and beginning of this new year.
The end of December has been a time of great love with both human and canine family, mixed with grief as Toto is leaving, just as my father did at the start of 2022. Life is rich.
As I reflect on 2022 and turn toward 2023, I will not be making any resolutions or setting any big goals. Rather, I hold a single intention with great focus: to open my heart, living in the moment, and put love first, starting with self-love.
For much of my life, self-love often came last as I put the needs of others ahead of my own. I thought being selfless was a virtue and set about living for others. I no longer think that. It's my life, for me to live fully, and I'm the only one who can live it.
So, with an open heart I stand here, at the start of 2023, intent on love as my guide, with a focus on self-love. I wonder what the year will bring?
And I'm curious about you. What is your intent for 2023? I'd love to hear from you.
Sending love,
Janet
